An important step towards strengthening lifelong learning and international mobility in higher education took place on Thursday, 3 April 2025, with the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Foundation for the Management of European Lifelong Learning Programmes (FMELLP – IDEP) and the Cyprus Universities Rectors’ Conference (CURC).
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of IDEP by Professor Petros Pashiardis and by the President of CURC, Professor Philippos Pougioutas.
The signing of the Memorandum lays the foundation for creating more opportunities for students and graduates to participate in the European Erasmus+ programme, jointly promoting the possibilities offered by Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, as well as strengthening the collaboration between Cypriot universities and IDEP.
Furthermore, this collaboration aims to promote lifelong learning and enhance its recognition at the national level, allowing students to acquire competitive skills for their future careers. During the signing ceremony, Dr. Stylianos Mavromoustakos, Director of IDEP, stressed the importance of the Memorandum for higher education. At the same time, he highlighted the benefits that will arise through joint activities and collaborations, as well as through the promotion of innovative projects implemented within the framework of the programmes funded by IDEP.
